91重口鈥檚 McKayla Anton鈥檚 attended the biggest Interior Design Tradeshow in the nation NEOCON 2019.
McKayla was kind enough to share her Neocon experience with us.
She says, 鈥淚 was very excited for the opportunity and began planning my trip right away. Fast forward a few weeks, and
I鈥檓 now back from Chicago and excited to share my Neocon experience! After being nominated to attend, I was also
selected by the IIDA OH/KY chapter as one of the students they decided to sponsor for the trip. Once I arrived in
Chicago, I was warmly greeted by the group of students who were also selected to be sponsored. Throughout the next four
days, we became good friends and thoroughly enjoyed the experience together! We spent our time in Chicago exploring
the Merchandise Mart, learning about the newest advancements in the industry, and taking in the beautiful city. The final
event on our Neocon 2019 calendar was the Charette. It was a fast paced critical thinking exercise, in which we were to
develop a design concept to satisfy the project scope we received the morning of the Charette. Twelve teams of five students,
selected from all over the united states, competed to develop a design and create the perfect presentation in just 6 hours.
It was my first Charette and I was very impressed with the other student鈥檚 work and dedication. Overall, Neocon 2019 was
an amazing experience. I made so many valuable connections to other industry professionals and thoroughly enjoyed the
adventure. I鈥檓 very grateful to those who made it all possible, and I look forward to revisiting Neocon in the future.鈥�
